Day 2: USHUAIA: TIERRA DEL FUEGO NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast at the hotel, embark on a half-day excursion to Tierra del Fuego National Park, the southernmost protected area in Argentina and the only one that combines both coastal and mountainous landscapes. The journey follows National Route No. 3, about 11 km southwest of Ushuaia, passing by scenic points such as Río Pipo, Monte Susana, Lago Acigami, the Alakush Visitor Center, Laguna Verde, and Bahía Lapataia, the symbolic endpoint of the Pan-American Highway. Along the way, you’ll have opportunities for photography and short walks, depending on weather conditions, to fully appreciate the park’s remarkable scenery of mountains, rivers, valleys, and lakes extending to the Beagle Channel coastline. Throughout the year, the park’s sub-Antarctic Forest offers a glimpse of native wildlife. Keep an eye out for the Fuegian red fox, and a rich variety of bird species such as the cachaña, giant woodpecker, rayadito, Patagonian thrush, and the cauquén caranca, emblematic of Tierra del Fuego National Park.

Day 4: USHUAIA: PENGUIN WATCHING BOAT EXCRUSION

The adventure begins at Ushuaia’s Tourist Pier, where we embark on a navigation through the heart of the Beagle Channel. As we sail away, admire the panoramic view of Ushuaia’s coastline, including landmarks such as the Maritime Museum (former prison), the End of the World Museum, and the Olivia and Cinco Hermanos mountains. Heading southwest, we reach Los Lobos Island, home to sea lions that rest and play along the rocky shores, a wonderful opportunity for photography. Continuing the journey, we visit Los Pájaros Island, where colonies of Magellanic and Imperial cormorants thrive, surrounded by other seabird species typical of this region. The navigation continues toward the Les Éclaireurs Lighthouse, a Fuegian icon located on a small archipelago of islets, where you can also spot remains of the Monte Cervantes shipwreck from 1930. Crossing to the southern coast of Isla Grande de Tierra del Fuego, we pass by Estancia Remolino, where the ship Monte Sarmiento ran aground, and enjoy views of Gable Island and the Puerto Williams Naval Base on Navarino Island (Chile).

Upon arrival at Martillo Island, we approach the coast to observe the Magellanic penguin colony, and occasionally Gentoo penguins, as they move freely along the beach and swim playfully around the catamaran. Their curiosity and natural behavior make this moment one of the highlights of the trip.

After this unforgettable experience, we sail back to the Tourist Pier, passing by the peaceful shores of Estancias Túnel and Fique.

Overnight in Ushuaia.
