Day 3: (Monday) MADRID – GRANADA 

Departure from Madrid early in the morning. We travel south through La Mancha, stopping at Puerto Lápice, a village in La Mancha that evokes Don Quixote. We enter Andalusia via Despeñaperros. Arrival in Granada. Lunch included. In the afternoon, if you purchased the trip with a visit to the Alhambra included, we will visit the immense Alhambra Palace and its beautiful Generalife gardens, built during the Arab period, with a local guide.

Very important note: The number of people authorized to visit the Alhambra is limited by law. To guarantee entry, tickets will be issued at the time of confirming the tour reservation. Visita panorámica de Rabat; conocemos su inmenso Palacio Real, el Mausoleo de Mohamed V y la potente Kasbah de los Oudaias. Al medio día salimos hacia Casablanca, donde haremos una breve visita con guía local por la ciudad. Conoceremos exteriormente la gran Mezquita de Hassan II una de las más importantes del mundo árabe. Continuación hacia Marrakech. Tras llegar al hotel incluimos un paseo en calesa hasta la famosa Plaza Jemaa El Fna. Cena incluida.

Day 6: (Thursday) MARRAKECH

We include a panoramic tour of this city that gave its name to the country. We will visit the great city walls, the bustling Jemaa Square, walk through the colorful Medina, see the Kutubiya Tower, and include admission and a tour of the Bahia Palace. Lunch included. Free time to relax by the hotel pool and garden, or shop in the souks of Marrakech. In the evening, there is the option to experience the Festival of Fantasy (optional).

Day 7 - (Friday) MARRAKECH - AIT BEN HADU - OUARZAZATE - BOUMALNE DADES

We set out to cross the Atlas Mountains, greeted by snow-capped peaks as we leave behind the palm groves of Marrakech. Small Berber villages cling to the cliffs. We visit the fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou, where numerous films have been shot. Both today and tomorrow, we will travel through what are known as biblical landscapes. Time in Ouarzazate, a city with an impressive Kasbah. We continue towards the Valley of Roses. Boulmane Dades. Dinner included.

 

Note: On very rare occasions (during winter), there may be snow problems on the Atlas passes; if the road is closed for this reason, an alternative program will be arranged (reaching or not reaching the Sahara depending on alternative mountain passes being closed).

Day 8: (Saturday)      BOUMALNE DADES - TODRA - KHORBAT - ERFOUD

An exciting stage in the Sahara Desert, the Valley of the Kasbahs, river valleys with thousands of palm trees, stone plains followed by oases and adobe villages with powerful fortresses defending the road. We visit the Todra Gorges, a mighty gorge with walls on both sides over 100 meters high. On our route, we stop at a small adobe village near Khorbat to visit a desert village where the operator has collaborated (access may not be possible due to weather conditions and river flooding). We continue on to Erfoud. Lunch included. Passengers who wish to do so can take an off-road excursion to the dunes of the Sahara and watch the sunset among the dunes.

Day 9: (Sunday) ERFOUD – MIDELT – AZRÚ – BHALIL – FEZ

We will leave Erfoud early, crossing the Atlas Mountains once again through mighty gorges and stunning landscapes. We will then cross a high, cold plateau inhabited by nomadic shepherds. We will stop in Midelt, in the center of this region. After lunch, we will continue our journey towards the Middle Atlas, where the landscape changes completely. We will be in a region where forests abound and it snows frequently in winter. Near Azrou, in the National Park, we will visit "the house of the cedars," a small museum that tells us about the region. Here we will see and be entertained by the colonies of monkeys that inhabit this area. We continue to Bhalil, a small, quiet village inhabited by Berbers from the Middle Atlas with a very picturesque old town with colorful streets. Traditionally, the population lived in caves, but today those caves have been integrated into the houses. We continue to Fez, and before going to the hotel, we will admire the view of the city from the Benimerine tombs. Dinner and accommodation.

Day 10: (Monday) FEZ - TANGIER

We include a visit to Fez, entering through the bronze gates of the Royal Palace, the Jewish quarter, its lively souks, and the tanners' quarter. The cultural capital of the country is known for its impressive Medina, which preserves the traditional Arab atmosphere like no other. At the end of the visit, we include lunch in an old palace in the Medina. Departure to northern Morocco via a modern highway. Tangier - Arrival in the late afternoon. Dinner and accommodation.

Free time in Tangier. Fancy doing some last-minute shopping? We board the ferry back to Spain. In the morning, we include a panoramic tour of the city. After the tour, we include a boat trip on the Guadalquivir River. Enjoy the panoramic views from the boat. In the evening, we offer you the chance to attend a popular flamenco show.

Day 13: (Thursday) SEVILLE - MERIDA - EVORA - LISBON

We will leave Seville behind us, traveling through pleasant landscapes of rolling hills and large pastures, and head towards Extremadura. Mérida, including admission to the archaeological site of the Roman Theater and Amphitheater, which is excellently preserved and a World Heritage Site. Time for lunch and a stroll through the pleasant pedestrianized historic center, which is full of life and restaurants. Continuing on to Portugal, we will stop in Évora, another city declared a World Heritage Site, with its white streets, Renaissance palaces, and cathedral. Lisbon, arrival in the late afternoon.

Day 14: (Friday) LISBON

In the morning, we will take a panoramic tour of the city, during which we will discover the Portuguese capital of seven hills, narrow streets, and tiles, of "saudade" and Atlantic light. We will also visit the Belem neighborhood, from where the great Portuguese navigators set sail across the oceans in the 15th century. The afternoon is free to stroll around and visit the Barrio Alto neighborhood and its viewpoint. If you wish, you can take an optional excursion to the towns of Sintra, Cascais, and Estoril. In the evening, we will return to the hotel from the lively Praça dos Restauradores, with its bars and cafés.

We will leave Portugal early and travel through the beautiful Alentejo region. We will stop for coffee in Estremoz, a charming town with a medieval castle, cobbled streets, and architecture and atmosphere that reflect authentic Portuguese character. We will then cross into Spain. In Cáceres, you can have lunch and stroll through its historic center, one of the best-preserved medieval and Renaissance urban complexes in the world. We will continue on to Madrid, arriving at the end of the day.

INCLUSION INSURANCE IN COMBINED TRAVEL RESERVATIONS
